This guidebook describes the traditional rock and big alpine routes in the Bregaglia and Chiavenna valleys in northern Italy and south east Switzerland. The guidebook concentrates on long multi-pitch mountaineering rock routes in 6 separate areas. These areas are Val del Ratti, Val Codera, and Val Schiesone in Italy, plus Val Bondasca, Albigna, and Val del Forno in Switzerland.

All the routes are shown on either colour photo-topos or colour topo-diagrams, along with a description. Each route also has a French technical grade, pitch length and a suggestion of what trad gear is required where applicable or details of the number of bolts on the route.
